WARREN, OH, July 26, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Christine LePosa, MA, LPCC-S has participated in The Star Treatment, a prestigious video series hosted by renowned lawyer and television personality, Star Jones. This premier video series is extremely limited — Marquis Who's Who qualifies 500 listees on an annual basis for this elite service. Backed by a storied career in media that spans more than two decades, Star works closely with Marquis listees to assist with networking goals and commemorative efforts that can be shared with a worldwide audience.
In her recent interview with Ms. Jones, Christine LePosa took a deep dive into her profession of mental health counseling, beginning with her origins in the field. "I initially decided to become a mental health counselor when I experienced the transformative process of counseling myself," Ms. LePosa said. From her late teens into her early 30s, she learned that counseling can be a safe and caring place to identify, express and process difficult thoughts and feelings. Touched by this discovery, she endeavored to share it with others.
Ms. LePosa began her professional journey with a bachelor's degree in applied health science, followed by a Master of Arts in counseling psychology. She then completed a graduate program, providing a combination of academic and social/emotional support to at-risk youth in diverse schools in the Boston area. From there, she worked as a staff therapist and a behavioral health program coordinator at a community mental health agency in the state of Massachusetts. During that time, she worked mostly with high-risk, low-income and culturally diverse children and their families. It was during that time that she achieved her license as a mental health counselor in the state of Massachusetts. Following this, she relocated to Northern Ohio where she currently lives with her family, becoming a licensed professional clinical counselor.
As a mental health counselor, Ms. LePosa provides a wide range of services, including crisis management and various mental health assessments, creating and implementing multidisciplinary treatment plans and working with interdisciplinary treatment teams to ensure that those plans are followed through. She also provides individual and family-based interventions to children and their families, as needed.
Part of Ms. LePosa's approach includes trauma-informed care, which encompasses a wide range of ways to support individuals and families whose lives have been impacted by trauma. While trauma can be experienced in different ways by different individuals, in Ms. LePosa's experience, the unifying principles of trauma-informed care are establishing a sense of safety, building a trusting, caring and consistent relationship, and empowering people who have experienced trauma to have a voice and a choice in their own lives.
To give back to others outside of her professional work, Ms. LePosa is involved in a number of volunteer initiatives, both locally and abroad. She serves as a volunteer door greeter at her local church, and she has also participated in mission trips to Africa and South America. Recently, she began coordinating and participating in a mentoring program for girls and women in her local church. Faith is an important part of Ms. LePosa's life, and in her opinion, the word "success" means using her God-given gifts, abilities and passions to fulfill her calling. Growing up as a Christian, her strong support system helped her stay on the right path. She hopes that her story will inspire others to take up service to others. With a devotion to serving others, there is no doubt that Ms. LePosa is a worthy recipient of the Star Treatment.
