Between 1989 and 1993, he also worked as a Paramedic for West Georgia Ambulance. Through the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Martin dedicated himself to his country as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Public Health Emergency Officer, Chief Nurse, and Flight Nurse.
Alongside his work, Dr. Martin dedicates himself to his community through local religious and charitable organizations and as co-founder of Craven-Martin Foundation, Inc. Throughout his career, he has done humanitarian work as a nurse practitioner in India, Haiti, Ecuador, and provided pro-bona health care provider services for the local school system's athletic program. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Dr. Martin aligns himself with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
An expert in his field, Dr. Martin earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of West Georgia in 1993. Subsequently, he received a Master of Science in Nursing from Kennesaw State University, a master's degree in Military Operational Art and Science through the USAF's Air Command and Staff College, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In recognition of his outstanding body of work, Dr. Martin was awarded the Air Force Reserve Command Advanced Nurse Practitioner of the Year Award, three Meritorious Service Medals, an Air Medal, and an Aerial Achievement Medal.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Martin takes the most pride in being deployed during Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedom during which time he provided transit medical support for wounded warriors. The cornerstone of his success lay in developing a healthy work ethic while growing up on a farm and having exemplary mentors. In the coming years, Dr. Martin intends to retire and work with the Craven-Martin Foundation through which he will provide non-medical support to veterans.
