Before venturing onto her vocational path, Ms. Martínez-Ward received a scholarship to attend the University of Florida, earning a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Spanish literature in 2009. She obtained a Juris Doctor from Nova Southern University Broad College of Law in 2011, serving in several noteworthy internships and clerkships during her studies.
Martinez-Ward was a law clerk in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Davie, FL. Before that, she was a legal intern in Miami, FL. Her internships included working for the Honorable Reemberto Diaz, 11th Judicial Circuit, Miami, FL, and for the Honorable US District Court Judge Barry Seltzer. She interned in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and joined the Chapter 607 Project's Research Committee for the Florida Bar's Business Law Section in 2011. Before launching The Ward Law Group, PL, with her husband, Gregory Ward, in 2012, she worked as a Certified Legal Intern at the State Attorney's Office, 17th Judicial Circuit, where she prosecuted and won more than 18 misdemeanor cases, including trials in front of juries and non-jury trials, as well as arguing motions to suppress and negotiating plea agreements.

They prioritize donating 1,500 meals and turkeys to families every Thanksgiving holiday, holding an annual backpack giveaway to help orphans and underprivileged children, and providing meals for Venezuelan children. With her husband, Mrs. Martinez-Ward partners with church organizations to assist vulnerable children and their families worldwide. The firm sponsors an orphanage and school in Nicaragua and supports the provision of food, healthcare, spiritual guidance, and Bibles to disadvantaged families in India as well. As an immigrant child who arrived in the United States not knowing the English language, Ms. Martínez-Ward hopes her involvement in these activities will help make a difference in the lives of children. Ms. Martínez-Ward's future goals at The Ward Law Group include serving 800 clients a month, exceeding their current revenue of $50 million a year, and expanding their operations to Texas and New Jersey.
Her future aspirations include advocating for displaced people around the world who are unable to defend themselves and supporting individuals who are fighting for fundamental human rights. There are 82.4 million people who have been displaced worldwide. This number has nearly doubled since 2010, from 41.2 million in 2010 to 82.4 million in 2020. Ms. Martínez-Ward explained, "As someone who has also been displaced from my country, this impacts me personally. The fact that these numbers continue to rise deeply concerns me. Due to human rights violations, wars, and climate change, I learned that just over one percent of the world's population had been forced to flee. In Venezuela alone, where I grew up after my family fled Cuba, 4 million people have been displaced. Almost half of the world's displaced population are children, and this statistic is significant to me. Since I, too, emigrated as a child with my mother and baby brother due to political reasons in Cuba and Venezuela. We no longer felt safe in Venezuela when our car was stolen after attending a medical appointment. My mother decided it was time for our family to move to a safer place. Inevitably, this meant we had to leave everything behind again."
Ultimately, she hopes to create a non-profit to assist and protect displaced immigrants. She aims to provide the protection and the tools they need to live a dignified life. This is her mission, her life's purpose.
