Since 2006, he has focused his efforts on ensuring he and his team deliver a reliable and consistent product on air. As they are a 50,000-watt station heard in five states, they are able to engage with more traditional uses for radio while providing reliable information and entertainment for their community. Additionally, he serves as an adjunct instructor for Clark University, an adjunct professor of marketing for Quinsigamond Community College and an adjunct professor of marketing and management for both Mount Wachusett Community College and Fitchburg State University.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Thompson began his career as a senior sales executive with Citadel Broadcasting WXLO in 1996 and became the director of sales for Clear Channel Worcester WSRS WTAG in 2001. Following this time, he was a sales executive for the Bolton Common and Harvard Post at the Community Newspaper Company in 2003. The next year, he joined WGAW 1340/99.9 The Eagle as a general manager, working there for two years.
While developing his professional journey, Dr. Thompson earned a bachelor's degree in business and marketing from the University of Phoenix in 2011. Following this achievement, he attained a Master of Business Administration in 2012 and a Doctor of Business Administration in 2017, both also from the University of Phoenix. Well-qualified in his field, he is a certified scorer with the Value Institute.
Within the coming years, Dr. Thompson intends to continue helping the radio station and his community thrive. He aims to promote the radio industry in general, as he greatly enjoys the unique aspects of AM radio stations. Additionally, he plans to expand his teaching opportunities, helping to guide rising marketing professionals.
