In a career spanning nearly four decades, Mr. Dirks has showcased his professional prowess in the areas of law enforcement and the aerospace industry.
Since 2021, Mr. Dirks has served as the Director of Business Development for the Sekisui Aerospace Corporation. He builds off prior experience as a founder and Director of Sales with Sagetech Avionics, Inc. and Sagetech Corporation as the Director of Sales and as Strategic Accounts Manager between 2018 and 2021. Additionally, he was the Sales and Marketing Manager for Innovative Composite Engineering from 2016 to 2018, and the Director of Business Development for Electronics Assemblers, Inc. from 2006 to 2016.
Before pivoting into the aerospace and technology industries, Mr. Dirks served in law enforcement positions in Oregon and Ohio. Notably, he served as Chief of Police for the City of Hood River, Oregon from 2001 to 2004 and as County Sheriff and Undersheriff in Gilliam County, Oregon from 1997 to 2001. In the 1990s, he had also been the Chief of Police for the City of Condon, Oregon, as well as a Lieutenant, Sergeant and Patrolman for the City of Lyndhurst, Ohio, with many duty assignments such as S.W.A.T. and Training Officer. Mr. Dirks conducted his law enforcement training and graduated from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy in 1990.
At the start of his professional endeavors, Mr. Dirks graduated from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Psychology in 1986. He then worked as an Account Representative for AVCO Financial Services and as an Inside Sales Service Representative for State Chemical Manufacturing, Inc. between 1986 and 1989.
Reflecting upon his abundant career, Mr. Dirks considers attending the FBI National Academy at the Marine Corps Base Quantico as his greatest career achievement. He attended the senior law enforcement executive leadership's 191st session and considers this opportunity an incredible honor. Likewise, he conducted graduate coursework in leadership at the University of Virginia.
Mr. Dirks attributes his vast success to his ability to relate to and empathize with others. Looking ahead, he plans to continue to utilize his skills and innate gifts to do good until it comes time for his retirement. A member of the Elks since 1999, he plans to remain involved for many years to come.
