PHOENIX, AZ, July 31, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Barbara J. Buck has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Leveraging more than five decades of excellence in the chemical, plastics and mining industries, Ms. Buck has recently earned distinction as the founder of Buck Sentinel Rock Consulting LLC. Since 2021, she has focused her efforts on identifying market development opportunities for molybdenum and engaging in global sales and marketing. Additionally, she has been a valued member of the Society of Women Engineers since 1974 and is a member of the Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations, the American Chemical Society and the American Water Works Association.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Buck began her career as a product development engineer in the chemical industry. She progressed through a series of assignments with increasing responsibility and became Global Business Manager in 1994. She then became vice president and business manager for UCB Chemicals in 1999 and became a global business manager for UCB Surface Specialties in 1999. Following this period, she served as the vice president of marketing and sales for Climax Molybdenum Co. from 2005 until 2020. During this time, she also was the president of the executive committee for the International Molybdenum Association from 2017 until 2021, presently serving as the advisory to the secretary general. In this role, she seeks to provide sound science and technical information on molybdenum and develop the marketplace.
To prepare for her career, Ms. Buck earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 1973, returning to the institution for the 50th anniversary presentation to the Society of Women Engineers. At the event, she presented her development of a series of new technologies that have added a great deal of value to various industries. Added to her degree, she graduated from the Wharton executive management program in 1996.
Looking to the future, Ms. Buck intends to continue her support of the International Molybdenum Association and their members. She also plans to collaborate on work developing technologies that will help companies achieve their ESG goals as well as developing sound scientific information allowing people to make good decisions about how to deploy technology.
