Leveraging his expertise in renewable energy and the solar energy system, Dr. Budagyan began his career in his native Russia at the Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology, rising to the head of the materials science department, serving as a professor, and overseeing more than a dozen postgraduate students and three international projects between 1989 and 2001. Recruited by Adema Technologies Inc. in Mountain View, California, he became the director of research and development and the company's engineering manager. Additionally, Dr. Budagyan was a self-employed materials science and technology specialist as the founder and president of GB Star Inc., specializing in research and development and manufacturing in Czochralski Crystal growth, materials science and technology, equipment design, process engineering, and more.
As a seasoned researcher, Dr. Budagyan has secured several grants to support his work. He also contributed approximately 70 scholarly articles to scientific journals, published seven books, and attended more than 60 scientific meetings throughout the course of his career. Extensively well-traveled, he has also channeled his passion for geography, history and multiculturalism toward visiting more than 15 countries spanning the Asian, European and North American continents. In the United States alone, Dr. Budagyan has traveled to more than 30 states, visited 35 national and historic parks, and crossed from the West Coast to the East Coast in order to learn America's rich history and take in its plentiful natural wonders.
To position himself for success, Dr. Budagyan graduated from the National Research University of Electronic Technology in 1980 with a degree in electronic technologies. He also attained a Doctor of Philosophy in physics and mathematics and a Doctor of Science in materials science from the Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology in 1985 and 1993, respectively. Moreover, Dr. Budagyan completed coursework in microbiology statistics at California State University in 2003 and 2004.
Dr. Budagyan is a prominent member of several relevant organizations, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, the New York Academy of Sciences and Materials Research Society, and the American Solar Energy Society. In addition to his multifaceted activities with the aforementioned groups, he is also proud to have worked closely with scientists hailing from a diverse array of backgrounds and life experiences.
