Ms. Everson is an experienced pastry chef who established herself as the owner and executive chef at Granny's Bakery in her hometown of Celina, Texas, in 2020. Specializing in cakes and custom cakes, she offers a variety of sizes and flavors to meet the needs of her customers, which range from chocolate and strawberry to peanut butter cup, chocolate peppermint, and, among many others, cinnamon toast cereal. Ms. Everson also sells various other baked goods, including buttercream cookies, brownies, baked bread, cinnamon rolls, salads, sandwiches, and adult beverages. Moreover, she offers various services for the community, including hosting birthday parties for children and pastry classes for adults.
Before becoming a business owner, Ms. Everson was the head pastry chef on a ship with Lindblad National Geographic Cruise Lines from 2019 to 2021. In this capacity, she prepped an assortment of foods each day, including five breakfast pastries, three lunch pastries, one plated dessert for dinner, and 30 loaves of bread. Unfortunately, Ms. Everson lost her job when COVID-19 hit the U.S. However, she pivoted by starting her own business, Granny's Bakery.
Apart from selling her many baked goods at her bakery, Ms. Everson sells her cakes to area restaurants. She also donates many of her treats throughout the community for special events.
Inspired by her grandmother, who initially taught her the art of baking, Ms. Everson pursued higher education to further her knowledge in the industry. After graduating from Prosper High School, she earned an Associates in Occupational Studies for Baking and Pastry Arts and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. Ms. Everson subsequently received a degree in baking and pastry arts, business administration, and management from The Culinary Institute of America in 2019. While pursuing her degree at the Institute, she also completed an externship, allowing her to spend an entire semester learning the industry hands-on. During her college studies, Ms. Everson also completed an internship with Google in its pastry kitchen in California and at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Tennessee.
