Leveraging more than two decades of excellence in the plastic materials industry in multiple market spaces, Mr. Arteaga has earned distinction as the Director of Strategic Relations and Sustainability for the Teknor Apex Company. Since 2023, he has focused his efforts on driving the sustainability efforts for the company, including giving sustainable solutions to the value chain, providing new product offerings and connecting with new companies to create shared knowledge and shared values. Additionally, he lends his expertise to seeking out materials that should be resilient to climate changes as well as finding ways to repurpose plastics.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Arteaga began his career working in Quality Assurance for Continental in 2001 and became a Product Development Scientist for Berry Global, Inc. in 2004. He subsequently served as an Application Technology Leader for Latin America with Dow in 2010 and was promoted to a Global Platform Technology Leader in 2014. He continued his career with Dow as a New Business Development and Sustainability Senior Scientist in 2019 and as an Application Technology Leader for Infrastructure in 2021. Following this time, he became the New Business Development Director for the Vinyl Division of the Teknor Apex Company in 2022.
Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Arteaga has 12 patent applications for his work. He was honored with an Innovation Award in 2014, a Winner Value Chain Engagement Award in 2017 and a Master of Innovation Award in 2018 for his stellar work with Dow.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Arteaga earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering specializing in Polymers in 2000 and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering specializing in Oil and Emulsion Polymerization Technologies in 2003, both from Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí in Mexico. Well-qualified in his field, he holds an Executive Certificate in Strategy and Innovation from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Within the coming years, Mr. Arteaga intends to contribute his expertise to advance society and the materials industry, finding methods for using less virgin materials and employ resources more efficiently. Having been exposed to multiple cultures, working globally with customers in Asia Pacific, Europe, the United States and Latin America, he has a keen sense of empathy for his customers worldwide and enjoys helping them to move forward with the materials that they are trying to develop.
