Before joining TE, Mr. Murguia-Lavalle was a senior legal counsel for Aptive (formerly Delphi), a motor vehicle manufacturing company, from 2007 to 2013. In this capacity, he managed all legal affairs, from corporate, labor, and compliance to commercial aspects for Mexico and Central America, as well as international mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Murguia-Lavalle also served as a Sr. legal counsel for GCC, an international cement and concrete company, between 2004 and 2007, and as a senior associate at Deloitte, a worldwide business consulting firm, handling mainly commercial and real estate legal matters.
Aside from his responsibilities in the field, Mr. Murguia-Lavalle has served as a volunteered speaker in numerous forums on compliance, leadership, and business in Mexico. He has also become heavily invested in civic matters, supporting various charitable organizations in Mexico and the U.S.
Highly educated, Mr. Murguia-Lavalle received a Bachelor of Laws in Mexico from Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez (UACJ) in 2000 and completed additional studies in U.S. law at the University of California at Davis in 2006. Additionally, he studied business and finance strategy at Boston University in 2015, received several credentials in business acumen for lawyers and other studies that have supported his career.
As a part of his continued professional efforts, Mr. Murguia-Lavalle is a member of the Latin American Corporate Counsel and the well-recognized Corporate Counsel Association in Mexico (ANADE) where he serves as head of the compliance committee for the Chihuahua chapter.
