A renowned prosthetist practitioner, Mr. Robinson has been affiliated with the 633rd Dental Squadron, 663rd Medical Group, at the Joint Base Langley Eustis in Hampton, Virginia, since 2016 as a clinical anaplastologist and maxillofacial prosthetist. He has also maintained a private anaplastology consulting practice in Suffolk, Virginia, since 2008, specializing in providing intra- and extra-oral maxillofacial prosthetic services to patients with deformations caused by congenital defects, cancer, and trauma and fabricating conventional and nonconventional dental prosthetic appliances for oral restoration.
Frequently collaborating with a team comprised of oral maxillofacial surgeons, periodontists, prosthodontists, maxillofacial prosthodontists, pedodontists, general dentists, plastic surgeons, neurosurgeons, ENT and other leaders in the industry, Mr. Robinson conducts treatment plans and provides referrals for colleagues. Notably, some of his patients include wounded warriors injured on the battlefield.
Mr. Robinson was a clinical anaplastologist/maxillofacial prosthetist at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, from 2009 to 2016 and the chief clinical anaplastologist at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth between 2002 and 2008, supervising and mentoring over 20 junior technicians. He also served on active duty as a clinical anaplastologist and dental maxillofacial laboratory specialty instructor at the Naval Post Graduate Dental School/Naval School of Health Sciences in Bethesda from 1998 to 2002. Among other noteworthy roles, Mr. Robinson served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1986 to 1988.
Sought after for his expertise, Mr. Robinson was part of a team of subject matter experts that co-wrote the core curriculum to be credentialed and certified for accreditation through the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery in Washington, D.C. He is the past president of the International Anaplastology Association and Oral Health Improvement Coalition of South Hampton Roads, Virginia, and the past treasurer and former board of directors for the Board for Certification in Clinical Anaplastology. As a respected scholar, Mr. Robinson contributed numerous professional articles in peer-reviewed journals and was a keynote speaker at multiple symposiums and educational conferences.
As a civic-minded person, Mr. Robinson has served on the Walter Spohn Trust Board since 2019. He has also been active as a member of the Central Michigan University Alumnus, the Southern Illinois University Alumnus, and the U.S. Navy Memorial Alumnus for many years.
Highly educated, Mr. Robinson earned a bachelor's degree in health care management from Southern Illinois University in 1999, a master's degree in health services administration from Central Michigan University in 200 I and completed subspecialty training in dental maxillofacial laboratory technology and clinical anaplastology at the Naval Post Graduate Dental School, Naval School of Health Sciences, Bethesda and specialty training in dental laboratory prosthetics at the Naval School of Dental Assisting and Technology in San Diego. Mr. Robinson is board certified in clinical anaplastology and received several other certifications in his field, including as a certified dental laboratory technologist.
Mr. Robinson's career has been greatly supported through memberships with several prominent professional organizations. Among them, he is active with the American Medical Administrators of Tidewater and the American College of Healthcare Executives. Mr. Robinson is also a member and former president of the International Anaplastology Association, which allowed him to give back to the public.
Decorated many times for his contributions, Mr. Robinson received the National Defense Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal, and, among others, a Commendation Awards. For his outstanding leadership in the community, he was named as the Air Force Dental Squadron Civilian of the Quarter numerous times, Medical Group Air Force Civilian of the Quarter, Air Force Medical Group Civilian of the Year, and Air Force Air Combat Command Civilian of the Year.
