Mr. Williams is a nuclear engineer and business leader celebrating more than 35 years of success in his specialty. He attended the University of Arizona, earning a Bachelor of Science in nuclear engineering in 1984. Upon his graduation, Mr. Williams became the only nuclear engineering student in school history to complete his degrees coursework in under four years.
He began his career in 1986 as a reactor engineer for Wisconsin Public Service, where he would continue to excel until his departure in 1994. That year, he relocated to Michigan to accept a position with Consumers Energy as a reactor engineering supervisor, rising to become manager of nuclear engineering in 1996. He remained with Consumers Energy until 2003, including three years of service as the director of the company's Zirconium Recovery Project. In 2002, he was named engineering programs manager for the Nebraska Public Power District, where he would continue to develop a reputation for in-depth industry knowledge and leadership excellence. Mr. Williams was named manager of capital projects for the Xcel Energy Monticello Plant in 2004, and rose to become the company's EPU director the following year. After six years of service with Xcel Energy, Mr. Williams joined AlKel Diversified Services as managing director in 2011.
Since 2016, Mr. Williams has been the managing director of WDPMS, where he continues to grow as a subject matter expert and industry innovator. Among his many career accomplishments, he holds a patent for a unique process to recover zirconium and uranium oxides from ore, and has been recognized for his high achievement with a 2021 Nuclear Energy Innovation Award and the Consumers Energy Top Innovative Practice Award and President's Award for the year 2020. Mr. Williams also was the lead developer of the first technique to robitically repair/mitigate loaded spent nuclear canisters. Mr. Williams considers one of his proudest achievements to be finding success as a sole proprietor and independent consultant in his industry, emphasizing his professional philosophy that "eagles fly alone." In his personal time, Mr. Williams is a volunteer for the Arizona Coyotes Foundation and an avid golfer.
