Established in 1951 by Alice Jones, she later sold Alice's Kandy & Korn in 1979 after running the business for 28 years. In 1986, the new owner relocated the storefront to an adjacent building, doubling its size. Changing hands again in 2004, the new owner struggled to keep Alice's legacy alive and in 2014, the company returned to Mr. and Mrs. Brew who had bought it from Alice.
Working hard with the Brew's to rebuild the brand, Mr. Waldie saved Alice's from going out of business. Going to extraordinary measures to keep her legacy alive, he invested his time learning to make all the candies, working closely with the Brew's who mentored him. Mr. Waldie also focused on the store's operations and financials. Not willing to make cuts to grow its profit margin, he ensures that the original products' quality remains intact. After much hard work and dedication, Mr. Waldie aims to hire three additional employees to support the need of the now thriving business.
To further support Alice's Kandy & Korn, Mr. Waldie is an active member of the Mackinaw City Chamber of Commerce.
