A skilled professional with more than two decades of devotion to his faith in Jesus Christ, Mr. Levine has earned distinction as the Executive Director for the Long Beach Rescue Mission. Founded in 1972, the rescue mission is a shelter for people experiencing homelessness, with 150 beds for men and 50 for women and children. They are a Christian faith-based organization focusing on how being in a relationship with Jesus changes lives for the better.
Since 2022, Mr. Levine has focused his efforts on overseeing the operations and programs for the mission while maintaining leadership throughout the community. He also handles the fundraising and development for the organization, creating contacts through the ministry, establishing relationships and handling resources provided by the community. He is proud to have created the mission's case management program and to have managed an additional 120 beds during the winter months. Having spent 12 years struggling with addiction, he was saved by his faith in 2003 and was able to recover, his experiences fueling his compassion and empathy for others in similar situations.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Levine served as a Chaplain and Program Director for the Long Beach Rescue Mission from 2006 until accepting a role as the lead pastor for Bethany Church Long Beach in 2018. Among his professional accomplishments, he is proud to have been inducted as a fellow to the Whitehead Leadership Society of the University of Redlands.
While developing his professional journey, Mr. Levine earned a Bachelor of Science in Biblical and Theological Studies from Biola University in 2013. Following this achievement, he attained a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in finance from the University of Redlands in 2015. Well-qualified in his field, he holds a certificate in Professional Fundraising from Boston University.
Looking to the future, Mr. Levine intends to expand their mission and ministry to serve more families and individuals. The mission is adding a new shelter for men with disabilities and are in the architectural design phase for a 60-bed shelter for women and children.
