Often referred to by its acronym, MDK, the company recently rebranded from its original name, Myung Dong Kyoja, shortly after opening. The company's success has also led to an expansion with a second location in Anaheim, California, and a third in Houston.

Among a myriad of responsibilities, Ms. Shin manages the administrative aspects of her company, including accounting work. She is also heavily involved in social media marketing.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Shin grew her business and earned a reputation as a leading Korean establishment. She attributes her success to her former experience in sales and being able to envision exactly how she wanted to run her business.
To further support her entrepreneurial efforts and community involvement, Ms. Shin has served as a member of the Asian Pacific Islander Business Association. She has also been active by giving back and donating fresh dumplings to the Monterey Park Hospital.
A college graduate, Ms. Shin studied at the school of business at the University of California Riverside, earning a Bachelor of Science in Finance in 2012.
