Leading a diverse, rewarding career for more than 40 years, Mr. Boulanger recently became a certified firefighter II and emergency medical technician affiliated with Saint Andrews Fire Department in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2021. Recognized as the eldest recruit ever to complete training through the South Carolina Fire Academy at age 59, he relies on his extensive background as a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and years of life experience to guide him. Mr. Boulanger proudly serves Engine 304 as a back-up driver and will soon become an engineer for the department.
Mr. Boulanger began his career in the entertainment sector in the early 1990s as a disc jockey and comedian at Excalibur, one of the largest world class nightclubs in Chicago. He spent over a decade writing, producing, and performing at the venue. After that, he helped create Infotrac from 1991 to 1993, through which he was instrumental in building what is now one of the largest emergency response companies in the world. His success also earned him a promotion as the organization's vice president. Moreover, Mr. Boulanger excelled as the owner and operator for Boulanger Holdings, a company of three different entities; HS Shows, HypnoServices, P&L Investments, 2006 to present day.
Apart from his dedication to the fire department, Mr. Boulanger has been a consulting hypnotist and professional speaker at HypnoServices since 2006, providing cutting-edge, very effective, and low-risk hypnosis wellness programs and speaking to a variety of groups about success and transformation. Becoming interested in self-hypnosis after experiencing knee and back pain due to his military service, Mr. Boulanger found the process to be of significant help.
Mr. Boulanger has remained active in the entertainment sector as a hypnotist, game show host, and comedian of his Charleston-based business, HS Shows, since 2006. In addition to hosting a variety of comical hypnosis stage shows, he has also become known for his game shows, including "Game Show Mania."
P&L Investments is his real estate company where he and his Bride, Lisa, buy, hold, flip, manage and rent, properties since 2004, first in Illinois and now in the Myrtle Beach and Charleston areas of South Carolina. Looking toward the future, Mr. Boulanger aims to remain active in hypnosis, helping people suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome. He also aims to continue to grow his real estate business further once he retires from the fire department.
Heavily engaged in civic endeavors, Mr. Boulanger has served as an emcee, game show host, and disc jockey on behalf of many charities, including the Relay for Life fundraising event, and as a search and rescue technician, holding the title of SARTECH II in the South Carolina State Guard since 2018 through 2023. He has also been active as a member of Rotary International in Shorewood, Illinois, as the vice-president in 2004-2005.
Mr. Boulanger serves two HOA Boards, one as President of the Caspian Village Homeowners Association in Myrtle Beach SC, and the other for the Felder Creek Homeowners Association in Summerville SC. Garnering numerous credentials to support his career, Mr. Boulanger received the designation of firefighter II through the South Carolina State Fire Academy, certification in complementary medical hypnosis, and accreditation in 5 PATH and 7th Path hypnosis from the Banyan Hypnosis Institute. Involved with several professional organizations to support his career, Mr. Boulanger is presently active as a member of the National EMT Group, the National Firefighters Association, and the South Carolina Firefighters Association.
Mr. Boulanger has been recognized for his dedication and commitment with several awards, including as a Five Star Performer by GigMasters. He was also decorated with a Meritorious Service Medal for saving a life and a Commendation Medal for locating a lost hiker, from the South Carolina State Guard. For his civic contributions, Mr. Boulanger received a Certificate of Recognition from the Chicago Police Department and his local Boy Scouts of America for his volunteer work with under privileged children and the homeless citizens of Chicago.
