Although his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in working closely with tribal entities in the area of federal land projects.
VISTA, CA, August 17, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Steve Harvey has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Backed by years of professional experience in archaeology, Mr. Harvey presently excels as a self-employed cultural resource management consultant. Prior to working for himself, he served as a senior archaeologist with ASM Affiliates, Inc., through which he worked as the principal investigator of various federal military installation projects, non-federal projects and those on non-military public land. Between 2007 and 2015, Mr. Harvey also worked as a heritage and tribal relations program manager for Cleveland National Forest. In this capacity, he oversaw the forest's federally mandated cultural resources inventory.
During the early stages of his career, Mr. Harvey gained valuable expertise in the field as an assistant base archaeologist for the Marine Corps Base at Camp Pendleton, an archaeologist and principal investigator with e2M, and as an archaeological survey and excavation field staff for the Archaeological Resource Unit at the University of California, Riverside, and other cultural resource management contractors. Alongside his archaeological work, Mr. Harvey is a member of the Anthropology Department Alumni Advisory Board at California Polytechnic State University, the San Diego County Archaeological Society, and the San Diego Archaeological Center, and is an active supporter and participant in the Wounded Warrior Project and the Harley Ownership Group (HOG). Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, he also aligns himself with the Society for California Archaeology, where he has served as a speaker and presenter at many annual meetings, and the Society for American Anthropology.
An expert in his field, Mr. Harvey earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1991. Subsequently, he expanded upon his professional knowledge, earning a Master of Arts in Anthropology with an Archaeology Focus from San Diego State University and becoming a member of the Register of Professional Archaeologists. Although his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in working closely with tribal entities in the area of federal land projects. The cornerstone of his overall success lay with curiosity and motivation to excel academically and professionally by his parents. His mother, Barbara Harvey, was inducted into Who's Who and served as a leader in the field of early childhood education, and his father, a high school English teacher with 35 years of experience. Over the years, he has also received a great deal of support and encouragement from his wife, Nouria, and his son Adam. Looking ahead, Mr. Harvey, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiast, mechanic, and builder, aims to open his own motorcycle repair and production shop.
