Since 2022, she has focused her efforts on managing real estate assets of institutional investors for the business. She assumes the role of investors' representative, strategizing daily operations, analyzing financing, refinancing and debt strategies, collaborating on cash collections & management, partnering on leasing activity analysis and research, leading co-tenancy risk assessment and CAM leakage control modeling, planning 5-yr / 10-yr capital expenditure, auditing existing accounts and rent rolls, assisting with acquisition / disposition of real assets, and creating valuation models in ARGUS/Excel. She liaisons with the accounting team for daily / monthly reporting, annual forecasting and budgeting. She is also an active member of the ESG team, reviewing near-term portfolio-wide ESG strategies. Additionally, she is a valued member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Institute of Town Planners in India and the Council of Architecture in India. She has also lent her expertise as the editor-in-chief for The Wharton Journal from 2020 to 2021.
Prior to her current role with the Trademark Property Company, Ms. Biswas began her career as a trainee architect with Interdesign in 2009 and was a trainee planner with Abha Narain Lambah Associates in 2012. Following this time, she was an architect and planner for Agrawal and Agrawal Architects in 2014 and a researcher for Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs, Bhutan in 2015. The same year, she also served as a design coordinator for the PS Group until taking a role as a business development coordinator for CBRE in 2016. In 2017, she returned to the PS Group as senior executive and was promoted to assistant manager of design the next year.
During this period, Ms. Biswas also was the founder and designer of Studio 21 from 2016 until 2019. During her career as the principal designer for various luxury projects, she navigated as a solo designer and introduced the avant-garde wall treatments, in which she infused complex weaving techniques into permanent wall décor that often spanned multiple wall surfaces of double height rooms / lounges, and revolutionized the concept of accent wall(s).
She subsequently served as an investment banking summer associate with Goldman Sachs in 2020 and held numerous roles at The Wharton School that year while pursuing her full-time MBA. In 2021, she worked as a private wealth management consultant and financial advisor for multiple investors. She has also contributed her own written works to the field, authoring multiple articles for The Wharton Journal and was also featured in Humans of Wharton.
Among her professional accomplishments, Ms. Biswas felicitated by the foreign minister and home minister of Bhutan for her work on conservation of the cultural landscape of Bhutan in 2015, received the DAAD Scholarship from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur in 2012 and the Malik/Mundhra Endowed Fellowship from University of Pennsylvania in 2020 and 2021. While in Wharton, she also served as Student Life Fellow (SLF), SLF- Communications Lead, Wharton Communication Fellow, P3 Program Facilitator; Dance Studio choreographer; social media manager for the Dance Arts Council of University of Pennsylvania and IDEA Student Leader for International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS). She was also a tutor in the Tutor@Wharton program for various subjects, including Accounting. Also an avid dancer and choreographer, she was a member of the Dance Arts Council and Dance Studio and led her team to victory in the Wharton Olympics Cluster Cup Dance Competition in 2019.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Biswas earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Jadavpur University (JU) in India in 2011. During the program, she received the Student Exchange Program Scholarship from JU and Escuela de Arte e Superior de Diseno Antonio Failde de Ourense Spain in 2009. Following these achievements, she attained a Master of City Planning degree from IIT Kharagpur in 2013 (with ~8 months of research at RWTH Aachen University) and studied Bharatnatyam and Kathak dance at the Banichakra Music and Dance Training College 2013-2019 and graduated with Distinctions. She subsequently gained a Master of Business Administration with majors in Finance and Business Analytics from The Wharton School in 2021.
