Mrs. Pierce's interest in collecting shark teeth began when she was a child, when she would visit Florida on vacation with her parents from her home in Illinois. Over the years, collecting shells and fossils on the beach grew into a serious beachcombing hobby. The impetus for Mrs. Pierce's business came when, as a high school freshman, she was selected to be part of a gifted classroom. In her new class, students were given an assignment in which they needed to invent something and then iterate on the creation. The result, in collaboration with her parents, was a shark tooth sifter that has since been patented and is available for rent and purchase at the stores.
A go-to source for expert information on shark teeth, Mrs. Pierce is especially proud of her appearance on Fox 13 News with Charlie Belcher of "Good Day, Tampa Bay." Despite her lifelong struggles with generalized anxiety, she went through with the live television appearance, and it was a resounding success. In addition, Mrs. Pierce takes pride in her social media work (where she is known online as @frenzybrit), particularly the connections she has made to millions of likeminded views via TikTok and other platforms.
Mrs. Pierce holds an associate degree from Harper College. In the coming years, she hopes to continue to expand her business, reaching even more fossil-hunting enthusiasts while retaining her company's small-family-business vibe.
