REDDING, CA, August 23, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rev. Patrick Alan Blewett, DMin, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Leveraging more than three decades of excellence, Dr. Blewett has earned distinction as the dean of the A.W. Tozer Theological Seminary. Since 2018, he has focused his efforts on working with faculty and students to guide them through their master's programs successfully. He and his team provide the religious courses for Simpson University at the undergraduate level, including a series of courses for students exploring biblical and religious studies. Additionally, he is a valued member of The Evangelical Theological Society, the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, The Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. and The National Association of Evangelicals.
Outside of his primary career efforts, Dr. Blewett has been a guest professor for the Academy for World Mission since 2011 and has given his expertise as a consultant, evaluator and commissioner of accreditation for The Association for Biblical Higher Education since 1996. He also authored "Discovering Our Roots, Establishing Our Legacy: A Study Guide for Learning Scripture and Christian Beliefs" in 2013 and produced a revised edition in 2020.
Before his present role, Dr. Blewett served as an instructor for biblical studies for the Cole Center Biblical Studies and was a family ministries pastor for the Cole Community Church. After working as a consultant for Scripture Press Publications, he became an instructor for Big Sky Bible College in 1981. A year later, he served as an education pastor for the First Federated Church in Des Moines and became an administrator and education pastor for the First Baptist Church in Sheridan Wyoming in 1983. He continued his career as an administrative chaplain for the Lewiston Police Department from 1985 to 1990. During this time, he also served as an administrator and associate pastor for the Orchards Community Church from 1985 until 1990.
Following this time, Dr. Blewett became the dean of faculty and academic vice president for Grace University in 1996, taking a role as the dean of undergraduate studies for Columbia International University in South Carolina in 2005. He subsequently functioned as an associate pastor for the Westside Church in Omaha Nebraska in 2011 to 2013. At the same time, he was a principal partner for International Oaks Consulting from 2006 until 2015. He served as the interim provost for Simpson University from 2018 until 2020 while leading the seminary program. Among his professional accomplishments, he is proud to have received a Certificate of Excellence in Environmental Protection from the United States President in 1973, and his honorific admiralty in the Nebraska Navy from the Governor of Nebraska in 2001.
To prepare for his professional journey, Dr. Blewett earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from the Montana Bible College in 1978 and a Master of Arts in Church Education from the Western Seminary in Portland Oregon in 1981, and a Master of Divinity in 1990. Following these achievements, he attained a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care from Western Seminary in 1992. He subsequently gained a Doctor of Philosophy in Education from the University of Idaho in 1996 plus a certificate in emergency planning and management from the same institution in 2012.
Eminently qualified in his field, Dr. Blewett was ordained to Ministry at Cottonwood Creek Community Church in Culdesac Idaho in 1982 and it has been affirmed within the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination in 2015. He secured a coaching mastery certificate from Creative Results Management. He also holds a quality manager certification from the Quality Management Institute and is a board-certified pastoral counselor with the International Board of Christian Counselors. Additionally, he is a licensed pastoral counselor with the National Christian Counselors Association.
Within the coming years, Dr. Blewett intends to complete development of extension programs he has developed for students in Hong Kong and Vietnam. He is also regularly submitting a series of articles for a newspaper in Seoul, South Korea and has spoken at the commencement of a school in Hong Kong. Having taught and spoken to groups in nearly 20 countries over the course of his career, he recently was invited to teach a course for pastors in Vietnam and Thailand. He also regularly leads study tours in the Holy Lands, and some key religious locations in Europe.
