Backed by years of expertise in high pressure physics, thermodynamics, education, and more, Dr. Nisr presently excels as a member of the physics faculty at Phoenix College. Previously, she served as a research scientist at the University of Arizona's School of Earth and Space Exploration, where she started as a postdoctoral researcher. Over the years, Dr. Nisr has focused her research on understanding the internal structures and processes of various planets, including Earth, Solar-system planets, and exoplanets. Through her research, she has discovered that water and silica have significant mutual solubility, forming new phases, which had never been found before.
Before embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Nisr earned a Bachelor in fundamental physics from Université de Lille 1 in 2006 and a Master of fundamental physics from the same institution the following year. Subsequently, she received a Master in materials physics and a PhD in mineral physics from the same institution.
While her career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Nisr takes the most pride in obtaining a position at Phoenix community college as a faculty and the physics program director. The cornerstone of her success lay in her commitment to and passion for education and physics. Looking toward the future, Dr. Nisr intends to collaborate with other departments in the company, including the engineering department.
