Mr. Lauriston has shared his diverse educational and subject matter expertise with others in a series of physics ebooks, "Physics in Motion."
FRANKLIN, TN, August 24, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fritz D. Lauriston, MSc., has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Lauriston is a physicist, educator, and author celebrating more than three decades of excellence in his field. He began his journey as a student at the University of Québec at Montréal, where he discovered his passion for physics after being invited by a physics professor to sit in on classes. After just one week in the department, he changed his major from engineering, and in 1981, he completed a Bachelor of Science in theoretical and mathematical physics. Mr. Lauriston pursued graduate-level study at the University of Moncton, graduating cum laude in 1986 with a Master of Science in condensed matter physics. In 1992, Mr. Lauriston earned a Bachelor of Education in physics and mathematics from the University of Ottawa, again graduating with honors.
Early in his career, Mr. Lauriston was affiliated with several prestigious colleges and universities including the University of Moncton, Florida International University, and Toronto Metropolitan University. In 1989 and 1990, Mr. Lauriston worked in Research & Development at Waterloo Scientific Inc. in Waterloo, Ontario Canada, where he participated in the experimental feasibility, design and specification of a Vector Laser Writer (VLW). A VLW can be used as an optical photolitography system. He also designed, built and tested circuits to integrate an AD-DA board with the Vector Laser Writer (VLW).
Furthermore, after completing his second bachelor's degree, he transitioned into teaching at high school level, and spent the next several years working with students throughout the United States and Canada. In 1999, he joined the staff at the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics, and since 2008, he has been a Physics and STEM teacher at Battle Ground Academy. At Battle Ground Academy, Mr. Lauriston teaches physics, astronomy, and conceptual engineering (teaching coding, drafting and how to apply for patents in the USA) to students in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades.
Outside his work in the classroom, Mr. Lauriston has shared his diverse educational and subject matter expertise with others in a series of physics ebooks, "Physics in Motion." The series includes seven books covering physics topics including force, momentum, magnetic induction, gravity, and basic mathematics, and Mr. Lauriston hopes to continue to publish additional installments in the coming years. In order to remain at the cutting edge of developments in his field, Mr. Lauriston is a member of the American Physical Society (APS), the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT), the American Modeling Teachers Association (AMTA), the Tennessee Science Teachers Association (TSTA), and a former member of the Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP).
