With more than two decades of excellence to his credit in social work and community service, Mr. St. Brice has earned distinction as a social worker with Boston Public Schools. Since 2020, he has focused his efforts on working with the students to help them with their socio-emotional and educational needs. As of August 2023, Mr. St. Brice will be working as a District Social Worker for the SLIFE program to work as part of a team that provides professional development and mentoring as well as provides culturally and linguistically responsive and sustaining services to students, families and school communities, including crisis response and coordination. Additionally, he has served as an adjunct faculty member for the Hope College of Arts and Sciences since 2017, teaching courses through their e-learning program. He is proud to have had a positive impact on people's lives throughout his career, including working with a client with agoraphobia who progressed to being able to go outside and find a job.
Also dedicated to civil advocacy, Mr. St. Brice lends his expertise as the mental health director for Gio's House of Hope and Restoration, which assists children, families, and the community in Pernier, Haiti. He has previously served as a board member for the YMCA-Huntington Avenue and the Dimock Street Community Health Center and was a fundraiser for Rodman Ride For Kids from 2002 until 2010.
Before starting his private career, Mr. St. Brice served honorably in the United States Army. Following his service, he began his career working in multiple positions from a residential counselor to the intensive foster care clinical case manager for The Home for Little Wanderers in 1997 and became the program director for the St. Mary's Center for Women and Children's Bridge Home program in 2010. He continued his career as a per diem, BEST urgent care and mobile team clinician for Bay Cove Human Services, Inc. in 2012. During this time, he also was a fulltime mental health clinician for the Suffolk County House of Correction from 2013 until 2016 then a per diem clinician until 2020. Mr. St. Brice worked at Succeed Boston as an intervention specialist with Boston Public Schools from 2016 until 2018. In 2018 through 2020 he took on the role as the associate director of student services for Year Up. Mr. St. Brice is also the mental health consultant for the H.O.P.E. Initiative (Halting Oppressive Pathways through Education) at Bunker Health Community College since 2022, through his St. Brice Consulting, LLC.
To prepare for his career in social work, Mr. St. Brice earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Africana studies from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Following this achievement, he attained a Master of Social Work from Simmons College in 2009. Well-qualified in his field, he is a licensed clinical social worker and holds a certificate for non-profit management and leadership through the Institute of Non-Profit Management and Leadership from Boston University. Looking to the future, Mr. St. Brice intends to continue working against the negative stigma surrounding mental health. He aims to influence change in terms of interpreting appropriate mental health services and support.
