Leveraging more than three decades of dedicated work in clinical research development, Ms. Woo has earned distinction as the medical affairs international center of excellence lead and global lead for the Asia Pacific Association with Organon. Since 1992, she has focused her efforts on following products from the pre-clinical stage through its clinical development with different companies until it becomes successful on the market, utilizing her valuable experience in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Notably, she worked on the end to end clinical development on an anesthesia product called Bridion (sugammadex) ©, which led to its successful worldwide launch and leading to numerous publications.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Woo served as the director of global clinical research for neurosciences and anesthesia with Merck Research Laboratories in 2009 and was promoted to the U.S. medical affairs strategy lead in 2015. She continued her career with Merck as the global lead for the Asia Pacific Association Employee Business Resource Group and as the director of clinical research and translational pharmacology clinical operations in 2018. Following this time, she joined Organon as the executive director of business development, research and development operations in 2021.
Among her professional accomplishments, Ms. Woo was listed as one of the Outstanding Top 50 Asian Americans in Business by the Asian American Business Development Center in 2021. She also was named as one of the Top 100 Future Leaders by Yahoo Finance from 2020 through 2023.
To prepare for her professional journey, Ms. Woo earned a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Barnard College, Columbia University. Following this achievement, she attained a Master of Science in electrophysiology from the New York University Graduate School of Arts and Science. Well-qualified in her field, she is also certified in the Asian Management Accelerator program with McKinsey and Company. She also has been involved with the Columbia University Club of New York for 20 years, including serving as vice president and chairing the health and wellness committee. She is also an advisor for the Asian Columbia Alumni Association and is past president of the NY Chapter and vice-chair of the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) from 1994-1998.
Within the coming years, Ms. Woo intends to utilize her role to help rising professionals advance in their careers. Her goal is to acquire skills in innovation and creativity while remaining active in diversity and inclusion initiatives, both professionally and in her volunteer efforts.
She is married to Clayton Eng who is a pharmacist and business owner. She has also been a violinist for the Summit Symphony and an ice skating instructor.
