Following this post, he garnered expertise as a research assistant at the Harvard Business School from 1978 to 1982, a consultant with Goldman Sachs from 1983 until 1986 and a Kogod Outstanding professor of undergraduate programs for the Kogod School of Business at American University between 1986 and 2019. Over the years, he has also been a visiting professor at New York University, Warsaw University in Poland, Ritsumeikan University in Japan and Tel Aviv University in Israel. In his career-related endeavors, Dr. Linowes has edited numerous volumes of "Portraits of Small Business from the Developing World," contributed to various articles and served as a reviewer of "Japanese Direct Investment in the United States."
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Linowes pursued an education at Princeton University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in cybernetics in 1973, followed by a Master of Science in computer and communication sciences from the University of Michigan in 1975. He continued his academic efforts at Harvard University, earning a Doctor of Business Administration in 1984. As a commitment to his field, he has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the International Personnel Association, the Association of Japanese Business Studies, and the Fulbright Association. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Dr. Linowes volunteers his time at local schools, directed the Sustainability Management Program at American University, serves as a member of Shaare Torah and is the vice president of his local Homeowners Association. He is the founder and director of the Richard G. and Elisa G. Linowes charitable fund.
Well-regarded for his contributions to the field, Dr. Linowes has been honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and the Fulbright Fellowship for Pedagogical Innovation to New Zealand in 1989. Additionally, he has been recognized as a Marquis Who's Who Top Professional, as well as a Marquis Who's Who Industry Leader, and featured in the Marquis Who's Who in the World publication. Among his professional accomplishments, he is most proud to have attended the inaugural meeting of the Kogod Alumni Network of Greater New York, which was attended by 30 of his former students.
