Maintenance and Construction. In addition to his primary vocation, he served as an associate professor and, later, as a full professor at the California Polytechnic State University from 1969 until 1999. Since 1999, Dr. Wu has held the designation of professor emeritus of statistics at the university. In his career-related endeavors, Dr. Wu has authored "The Housing Crisis in California and Beyond: An Insider's Expose" in 2019, which explores the urgent issues and possible solutions surrounding the housing industry and trade deficit.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Wu pursued an education at the National Taiwan University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in economics in 1959. He continued his academic efforts at Utah State University, earning a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in applied statics in 1966. He concluded his scholarly endeavors at the Colorado State University, attaining a Doctor of Philosophy in statistics in 1969. As a commitment to his field, he has been licensed as a California building contractor in 1979. Additionally, Dr. Wu has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the Old Main Society at Utah State University, the American Statistical Association, the Colorado State University Alumni Association and the Chinese Professional Association.
Among his professional accomplishments, Dr. Wu is most proud of his academic background and teaching career. Additionally, he takes pride in establishing a successful maintenance and construction company, publishing his book and numerous articles in scholarly journals, and chairing a session at the American Statistical Association national convention. Reflecting on his achievements, he attributes much of his success to his hard work and drive to succeed, having immigrated to the United States in 1962 with no money, connections or prospects. Looking toward the future, Dr. Wu aspires to remain active in his field and hopes to publish more books.
