Jo Anne Cauble McMeans Celebrates Her 60th Wedding Anniversary

Ms. McMeans attributes her success to her faith, and her loving family



    TYLER, TX, August 31, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jo Anne Cauble McMeans has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Leveraging more than two decades of excellence in community service and office administration, Ms. McMeans has earned distinction as a community relations liaison with Prestige Estates Assisted Living and Memory Care. Having joined the company as an activity director, receptionist and co-marketer, she has focused on helping to care for the senior citizens in her community since 2007. In these capacities, she has availed herself on behalf of residents by assisting in everyday activities, spiritual encouragement, and various events, including the Alzheimer's Alliance of Smith County Support Group Luncheons. Well-regarded for her accomplishments at Prestige Estates, Ms. McMeans has been bestowed with "Excellence in Professional Courtesy" certificates in 2012, 2014 and 2015, and was recognized as "Most Spirited" in 2013 and 2014.

Before embarking on her professional journey, Ms. McMeans graduated in the top of her class from Sam Houston High School, Houston, Texas. She is a member of the National Honor Society with the distinction of Summa Cum Laude. She completed coursework at Tyler Junior College and is an alumni graduate of the Christian Women's Job Corp of Tyler. She later worked as an executive secretary at Gower Computer Support in 1993, and as an office manager and receptionist at Park Place Nursing Center between 1994 and 2003. Following this period, she served as a special events coordinator and art sales person at the Thomas Kinkade Art Gallery between 2003 and 2004, after which she joined Classic Boutique as a marketing director from 2004 to 2005. Ms. McMeans subsequently contributed as an attendance clerk and events coordinator at Stepping Stone Preschool and Elementary from 2005 until 2007.

Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. McMeans has worked tirelessly in service to her community for many years. Among her achievements in this regard, she still serves as parade coordinator for the Annual 4th of July Children's Parade at Stepping Stone Preschool since 2005. In 2022, she inspired the Stepping Stone faculty, students, parents, and friends to collect 110 storybooks for the Children's 4th of July Parade to send to the unfortunate students of Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. These books will be placed in their new elementary school library. Additionally, when assisting Camp V for Veterans, she hosted the first Christmas trees in 2022. She also provided 50 books of encouragement and 100 personally signed Christmas cards with special messages to each veteran. Furthermore, Ms. McMeans participated in the Tyler Firefighter's Annual Christmas Toy Drive from 2015 until 2021 and has served on the tourism committee of the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce since 2008.

Born to parents who were enmeshed in the joys and travails of Tent Theater, Circus, Silver Screen and early, "Talkies," Ms. McMeans has been a prolific presence in local church and community theater productions, having been featured in renditions of "The King and I," "Fiddler on the Roof" and "To Kill a Mockingbird," among many other plays and musicals. In addition, she has participated in numerous reenactments, having portrayed various historical figures, and has worked closely with the Goodman-LeGrand House & Museum for 20 years. She found herself enjoying being a cast member, along with her daughter, in a film cut to become a pilot for a television series, "In Service to America." Her claim to fame is having been a professional, "Back-Up" Dancer for a promotional with the Dallas Cowboy Football Team and embraces her amazing family history as being, "Citizens of the Republic of Texas!"

Ms. McMeans was crowned as Queen of the Ms. Texas Senior Classic Pageant in 2015, in addition to such accolades as "First Runner Up 2014," "First Place Best Philosophy 2014," "First Place Most Photogenic 2014" and "Second Place Best Talent 2015." The occasion was noted in an article by the Tyler Morning Telegraph, "Tyler Woman Takes Home Title of Ms. Texas Senior Classic 2015," and she was further bestowed with the Yellow Rose Award in 2016 by state directors Earl and Peggy Wagner. Since 2014, she has been instrumental in bringing the Ms. Texas Senior Classic Queens, Court, Contestants and Staff to Tyler, Texas, to participate in the Texas Rose Parade. She endeavors, annually, to promote the new Ms. Texas Senior Classic Queen and Court Members, along with Contestants, and Staff while paying homage to the Texas Rose Queen. She affirms the inspiring Ms. Texas Senior Classic Pageant's motto as, "We Are Changing the Image of Aging." Ms. McMeans is honored to serve as assistant state director since her appointment in 2016.

Among her many accomplishments, in 2015, Ms. McMeans was recognized as an Exemplar of the Highest Ideals of Beta Sigma Phi (Xi Chi Sigma). She is further gratified to have received the, "For God and Country Award with Medallion" from the National American Legion. Additionally, she is a valued member of the Ladybugs of East Texas and was awarded a Life Time Membership from the Texas Parent Teachers Association for her design and organization of the Clarkston Elementary School Safety Program.

Due to her consistent efforts to give back to her community, putting her faith and others before herself, Ms. McMeans and her beloved husband, Michael, are both deeply grateful to have been born to loving parents who taught love and respect for God and Country. Having been married September 14, 1963 and looking forward to commemorating their sixtieth wedding anniversary on September 14, 2023, she remains eternally grateful for the success of their four children, Mark Edward McMeans (Sarah), Heather Erin McMeans McCarroll (Stephen), Christopher Michael McMeans (Lindsay), and Amber Michelle McMeans Murphey. In honor and respect to their land of ancestry, Michael and Jo Anne McMeans, for each of their sons, daughters and their respective spouses, on the twenty first day of December in the year of two thousand and twenty, in the sixty eighth year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lady Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, Head of Commonwealth and Defender of the Faith, delivered intention to purchase land. Intention to purchase was accepted. To each of their children and spouses, was bequeathed unto them a dedication of a plot of land in Scotland. Becoming land owners, each was granted the honorary Scottish Title of "Lord or Lady." The McMeans' family also embraces their ancestry of being descendants and current clan members of the Clan Menzies with castle located in Aberfeldy, Scotland. (In 2022, family members were honored to tour Castle Menzies.)

Ms. McMeans and husband, Michael, count their grandchildren as some of their greatest blessings! Their nine grandsons, Alexander, Anderson, Brandon, Cameron, Christopher, Drew (Michelle), Jonathan, Matthew (Natalie Henderson, "Bride-Elect"), Shamus, and granddaughters, Margaret "Maggie", Sydney, and great-granddaughter, Isabelle, bring them great joy.

Mrs. McMeans treasures her siblings, Patsy Ruth Cauble McElroy, Dixie Lee Cauble Medford, Victor Tracy Cauble, Linda Sue Cauble Brummerhop, and her late sister-in-law, Nancy Lynn McMeans. She loves her many wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins. Remembering the teachings of her beloved mother, Norma Ruth Atkinson (Cauble) Foreback, she tries to live daily by the truths she learned as a child. She greatly appreciates the instructions of her father, Herschel T. Cauble and step-dad, Donald L. Foreback who taught her to be honest, creative, and hard-working. Her life was greatly blessed by Clyde and Beatrice McMeans, her late father and mother-in-"love," who embraced her as their own. She wishes to thank all of her family and friends for their love and support.

Ms. McMeans was born on December 30, 1944 in Houston, Texas. Ms. McMeans most humbly expresses that of all of her accolades, awards, and titles, the most precious title is, that she is a "Child of God" and honored to be His servant. Matthew 23:11-12 says, "The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted." She shares that all of these affirmations have come from her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She shares her favorite Bible verse "For whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13.
