Beginning his career in 1980, Mr. Dybdahl was a consultant for Risk Treatment Services specializing in asbestos litigation. He subsequently became an insurance broker and producer for Frank B. Hall and as a vice president for Corroon and Black/Willis. Mr. Dybdahl spent the next two decades in progressive roles serving as the global environmental practice managing director and chief knowledge officer of the third largest insurance brokerage firm in the world. In 1999 he formed American Risk Management Resources Network LLC.
Mr. Dybdahl is a prolific author and public speaker. His work has been published in over thirty insurance textbooks and professional journals on insurance. He also published an environmental insurance users guide for the land use policy in China. He has been a guest lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for over forty consecutive years.
He is active with several wildlife organizations, including Ducks Unlimited as a lifetime member and former local event chair in Nashville, Tennessee. Furthermore, Mr. Dybdahl supports the Sierra Club, Quail Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and Trout Unlimited.
Mr. Dybdahl acquired an undergraduate degree and Master of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1978 and 1981, respectively. Highly qualified in his industry, he received designations as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management, and Certified Insurance Counselor. To remain abreast in his field, Mr. Dybdahl is an active member of the CPCU Society. In 1999 he founded the Society of Environmental Insurance Professionals to expand the knowledge of environmental risks and insurance in the economy.
Recognizing his success, Mr. Dybdahl was inducted into the Insurance Business America, 2021 Insurance Hall of Fame. Incredibly proud of this honor, he was just one of 20 individuals to be inducted out of a universe of two million other insurance professionals. Mr. Dybdahl's company has also been noted as the Best Environmental Insurance Practice Group in the U.S.
