SHREWSBURY, MA, September 12, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sean A. Hastings, MS, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Leveraging more than three decades of excellence, Mr. Hastings has earned distinction as the Assistant Athletic Director for Saint John's High School. Having been a biology teacher there since 1999, since 2021 he has focused his efforts on scheduling conference games and coordinating with other schools to compete with for various sports. He also helps design and order hockey, football and basketball uniforms for his teams while serving as the coach for the football, baseball, and middle school basketball teams.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Hastings began his career as a Work Conditioning Specialist with Fallon Clinic in 1993 and became a teacher for St. Mary's High School in 1998. Additionally, he served as the Dean of Students for Saint John's High School from 2019 until 2021. Part of what makes him an effective teacher is his ability to connect with his students, maintaining a youthful outlook on life to have a better understanding of their viewpoints and experiences. He has built lasting relationships with numerous students over the years and attends class reunions with former students to reconnect with one another.
Before embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Hastings earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Biological Sciences from Southeastern Massachusetts University in 1991. Following this achievement, he attained a Master of Science in Movement Science and Exercise Physiology from Springfield College in 1997. Well-qualified in his profession, he is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Within the coming years, Mr. Hastings intends to continue expanding middle school athletic programs in his schools, including adding more sports they can offer. His goal is to build a strong athletic program and gain recognition as one of the top schools in the state. As part of this effort, he is pursuing board positions with the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association.
