Since 2014, he has focused his efforts on managing a private practice while tending to patients with advanced heart failure for the entire Saint David's healthcare partnership. He provides emergency coverage in the hospital for interventions as well as elective interventions and oversees the entirety of the heart failure program for the practice.
Additionally, he has served as the president of the consulting company Medical Research and Advisory Group Inc. since 1991. The group focuses on providing medical consulting and safety consulting services to clinical research organizations and big pharma.
Added to this, he has been the president and a doctor with Texas Heart and Vascular PLLC since 2011 and is a valued member of the Young Presidents Organization-World Presidents Organization and the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplant.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Dieck served as the president and chief executive officer for Texas Cardiovascular Consultants from 1990 until 2010, growing the business from three cardiologists to 40 and from a $3 million a year revenue business to more than $100 million a year in revenue. During this time, he also was the medical director for the Seton Medical Center's department of heart failure and cardiac transplantation from 1995 until 1997. Following this time, he was an expert panelist for the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners from 2011 until 2014 and the director of the Capson Physicians Insurance Company from 2012 until 2018. Among his professional accomplishments, he was named a Super Doctor by Texas Monthly and was admitted as a fellow to the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.
To prepare for his medical career, Dr. Dieck earned his bachelor of science degree at Southwestern University in chemistry magna cum laude with minors in mathematics, biology, and business in 1980, and a Doctor of Medicine from the Baylor College of Medicine in 1984. Following these achievements, he underwent an internship at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital and a residency in internal medicine with Baylor Affiliated Hospitals in 1987. Pursing cardiology to satisfy his scientific curiosity, he subsequently completed a fellowship in cardiology at the Texas Heart Institute. Well-qualified in his field, he is board-certified in internal medicine and in cardiovascular medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Within the coming years, Dr. Dieck intends to continue his practice until he is able to develop his successors further, enabling him to successfully retire.
