Over the past 25 years, Mr. Sibert has been actively involved in investigating and helping to prosecute corrupt police officers, his works contributed to the release of wrongfully detained prisoners. He has also enmeshed himself in numerous other high-stake arrests and prosecutions, including that of an orphan predator in Haiti, and helped capture an infamous gang of kidnappers and organized crime leaders in the northern part of the country. Additionally, Mr. Sibert availed himself in convincing the Haitian government to adopt a law against human trafficking in 2014.
Mr. Sibert's success as an investigative reporter has resulted in numerous appearances in local and national newspapers and documentaries on CNN and Radio Canada TV. He was also included in the book, "A Cruz Haitiana," published by the Brazilian journalist Iara Lemos.
Adding to his professional expertise, Mr. Sibert has served as the owner of Radio Souvenir FM since 2008. He has also been reporting for the Media Institute of the Caribbean (MIC) in Kingston, Jamaica, a nonprofit organization, resource, and training facility for the Caribbean, since 2021. Moreover, Mr. Sibert has served as a talk show host for Radio Maxima, Radio Citadelle, Radio Souvenir FM, Radio Kontak Inter and online media.
During an earlier stage of his career, Mr. Sibert was aligned with Radio Maxima and Radio Citadelle, gained experience in social marketing at Population Services International and Agence Developpement et d'Education Communautaire, and spent more than 10 years as an investigator, consultant, and liaison for Mitchell Garabedian Law Office in Boston and Simmons Hanley Conroy, a national law firm based in the U.S.
Passionate about his work, Mr. Sibert notes that a career in investigative reporting, particularly in his native country, is considered to be very dangerous. However, despite the many obstacles he endured, beginning while coming of age and struggling to make a life and later choosing to advocate for others as a journalist, he remains confident in his decision to serve as a voice for others. Looking toward the future, Mr. Sibert aims to continue excelling in his field and enhancing his knowledge and expertise. He also aspires to work as a cross-border journalist and contribute to his country by developing a geopolitical view based on his ancestors' contributions in Haiti.
Besides his ongoing efforts on behalf of his profession, Mr. Sibert has volunteered his time to various charity missions and non-governmental organizations that support child development and protection and the prevention of communicable diseases.
Highly educated, Mr. Sibert completed coursework in accounting in Haiti. Subsequently, he garnered a bachelor's degree in law from the Institut Universitaire d'Etudes Juridiques, Economiques et de Développement Régional in Haiti in 2003. Furthermore, Mr. Sibert received designations in journalist training through the MIC, the Association of Caribbean Media Workers, the Investigative Reporters and Editors, the Association des Journalistes Haitians, the U.S. Embassy and Volunteers of America, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, and the United Nations.
Active with several industry-related organizations, Mr. Sibert is a member of the Investigative Reporters and Editors, the Society of Professional Journalists, the MIC, and the Association of Caribbean Media Workers.
