LIVERMORE, CA, September 14, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jeana Edwards, DC, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Dr. Edwards is a successful chiropractor based in Livermore, California, who has been in the field for over five years. As the founder of Chiropractic From the Heart since 2017, her full spinal clinic offers chiropractic care using diverse treatment methods to meet the unique needs of her patients beginning at the very start of treatment process.
Apart from her busy practice, Dr. Edwards has been affiliated with her alma mater, Life Chiropractic College West (LCCW), since 2017, beginning as a Student Laboratories Manager. She subsequently served as a laboratory assistant and adjunct faculty member from 2017 to 2019 and, since 2020, has been promoted to Department Chair of Clinical Sciences. In her present position, Dr. Edwards co-manages approximately 30 full and part-time faculty members with two other department chairs, assisting them with the curriculum and ensuring they remain within their accreditations. Additionally, Dr. Edwards teaches several of her own courses on campus.
Recognized as a small, private chiropractic college in Hayward, California, LCCW focuses on offering students a curriculum that focuses on vitalism and holistic health care. The college also allows students to participate in on- and off-campus clinical experiences. Dr. Edwards has supervised several chiropractic service trips to India and Central America in providing free chiropractic healthcare to thousands of patients. "I am blessed to have worked with so many leaders who want the best for their people and countries," said Dr. Edwards.
It was an unconventional route that took Dr. Edwards from a medical massage therapist to leading at her alma mater. "College, or formal education, was never in my vocabulary. I was told that I wasn't college material." With trepidation, she started her first college course at the age of 33 and just kept going. Upon graduating from LCCW in 2016 with a Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Edwards longed to share her knowledge with those often overlooked. Her heart was in higher education and helping those who were warned against it. So, she created a pathway for underprivileged youth to explore healthcare when they are generally ignored due to low GPA scores, multiple absences, family difficulties, and previous incarcerations. The HS GAP program launched several high school students into healthcare careers, assisted with medical school applications, and has been modeled by two other undergraduate colleges. "You just have to believe in the student and allow them to shine within their own light," Dr. Edwards' voice wavers as she recalls how a few of her students are now in medical rotations.
Dr. Edwards' future goals include publishing her first book, hosting a TED Talk, and continuing her work with at-risk high school students. Dr. Edwards is a firm believer in lifelong learning.
