Leveraging more than a decade of excellence in video production and storytelling, Mr. Nix has earned distinction as the owner of Undercover Entertainment, a video production company specializing in creative storytelling using a visual medium. Since 2010, he has focused on bringing each client's vision for their project to life, including serving as director, producer, writer, cinematographer, and editor on various projects.
Before establishing his company, Mr. Nix began his career as a photojournalist for ABC 33/40 WBMA Television with Sinclair, Inc. from 2005 until 2015. He was chosen to cover the Democratic Convention in Denver, Colorado, when Barack Obama gave his acceptance speech in 2008, allowing him to collaborate with experienced professionals in the field. In 2010, he transitioned to a morning entertainment show called Talk of Alabama, where he not only worked with the host for the show but was also able to begin working on his own features, where he filmed, conducted interviews, and edited them, even securing his own segment that earned him recognition for his stories. He also was a mentor for the Danon Project, an organization in Birmingham, Alabama, that assists individuals who were incarcerated to integrate successfully back into society. Before embarking on his professional journey, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, with a concentration in video production, from Alabama A&M University in 1999.
Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Nix is proud to have received numerous AP awards and an NABJ Award from his time in television. Still, through his work with Undercover Entertainment, he received the Best Director award from the Black Film Festival Atlanta in 2019 for a short film he co-directed and produced and an Audience Choice Award at the Silver Screen Film Festival in Tampa, Florida for the same film. He has also won a Communicator Award, a Gold Telly Award, and a Platinum Dotcom Award for his work on the opening video for the World Games 2022, which he and his team produced, and two Bronze Telly Awards and a Gold Dotcom Award for a short documentary he produced. Within the coming years, Mr. Nix intends to complete his own feature film and create original content for television and film in the entertainment industry.
