He has also accepted various awards, including the IBM Master Inventor Award from IBM in 2018, the Outstanding Innovation Award for design and hardware innovation on z15 in 2020, the Outstanding Technical Achievement Award for IBM z16 hardware and performance innovation in 2023, and the Eminence and Excellence Award from IBM in both 2016 and 2017. Additionally, Mr. Werner leads a patent review board and was honored to receive awards for his contributions for reviewing and mentoring inventors every year from 2018 to 2022.
