The foundation of Mr. Williams' distillery business was built on the foundation of his grandfather and great-grandfather, both sharecroppers. Saving all the money he earned from cotton and homemade moonshine, his grandfather purchased the 86-acre farm in 1949. Today, Mr. Williams serves as a fourth-generation owner, working alongside his wife, Donna Williams, the distillery's co-founder and chief brand officer, Donna Williams, and their two sons, Thomas and Donavan, who share the responsibilities of running the distillery as head distiller and operations manager, respectively.
Mr. Williams began his career in the food processing industry as a manager of operations and engineering at Cargill Meat Solutions in Springdale, Arkansas, in 1992, shortly after graduating from college. He subsequently spent two decades with Hillshire Brands in Tennessee, Ohio, Illinois, and Texas, in progressive roles, beginning as a project engineer and rising to serve as the plant manager in 2013. Mr. Williams relocated to his home state of Arkansas in 2016 and spent more than five years employed by Shearer's Snacks as a plant director until 2022.
Active in his community, Mr. Williams serves as the president of the Phillips County Chamber of Commerce. To prepare for his career in the industry, he earned a Bachelor of Science in biological and agricultural engineering from the University of Arkansas in 1991 and a Master of Business Administration from Thomas More University in 2006. Mr. Williams remains aware of developments in his field as a member of the Academy of Biological and Agricultural Engineering.
Honoring his accomplishments, Mr. Williams has received several accolades, including as the 2023 Arkansas Tourism Award recipient.
