Before her present role, Dr. Sam was the director of the gastrointestinal motility center for Stony Brook Medicine in 2009 and served in a similar role for the Mount Sinai Health System in 2012. Following this time, she was a gastroenterologist for Essen Medical PC until 2021. Among her professional accomplishments, she was named a Top Gastroenterologist in 2020 and 2021 and a Top Female Physician in 2021.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Sam earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from New York University. Following this achievement, she attained a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health from Tufts University. She subsequently completed a residency in internal medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital and a fellowship in gastroenterology at New York University.
Looking to the future, Dr. Sam intends to continue her show as well as her gastroenterology practice. She will also continue her volunteer efforts, including fundraising for Safe Horizons and the Organization for International Development Inc. while caring for her family in New York City and the Caribbean.
