Pivoting into finance, he was acquired by Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in 1998 as a financial advisor associate. Over the next decade, Mr. Williams continued to garner promotions, earning the title of vice president and business development officer from 2009 to 2010.
Committed to various civic, nonprofit, educational, and other organizations and events, Mr. Williams was active as a board member for Healthy Start, board director for the Diamond Community School, and member, vice president, ambassador coordinator, and board director for the Northern Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce. He also chaired the South Carolina State University Foundation board of directors and was approved as Director Emeritus and was an advisory council member of The Salvation Army in Fairfax, Virginia. Mr. Williams remains active as a parishioner of his church and as a mentor and coach to young men from within the community. He also proudly gives back to the less fortunate and donates monetary gifts to various local organizations.
A North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University graduate, Mr. Williams earned a Bachelor of Science in applied mathematics in 1975. Well-qualified in his industry, he received credentials as a certified financial fiduciary through the National Association of Certified Financial Fiduciaries and as a professional plan consultant through Fi360 (now Broadridge). Mr. Williams is notably recognized as a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
In light of his accomplishments, Harris Corporation named Mr. Williams the Engineer of the Year. Among other honors, the Northern Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce named DEW Financial Management Group Inc. as the Business of the Year, and he received the Five Star Wealth Manager Award, which was mentioned in an article in the November 19, 2022 edition of The Washington Post.
