Leveraging more than three decades of excellence in hospice and healthcare, Ms. Melendres-Magcalas has earned distinction as the chief executive officer, administrator and managing member of Home Health Complete, LLC. Since 2017, she has focused her efforts on operating two hospice agencies in Los Angeles, California, as well as providing nursing care and medical social workers for people in terminally ill conditions.
In addition to these roles, Ms. Melendres-Magcalas has been the administrator and director of patient care services for CareSource Home Health, LLC since 2004. She also has been an administrator and director of nursing for Excel Hospice And Palliative Care, LLC since 2015, a registered nurse with Carelink Placement Inc. since 2015 and the chief executive officer of Angel's Light Hospice Inc. since 2022. She and her teams assist more with addressing hunger, homelessness and displacement issues as well as providing hospice care.
Also dedicated to civil advocacy, Ms. Melendres-Magcalas established the Growth Mindset Foundation, where she supports homeless people in California, especially in Los Angeles. The foundation serves those who are suffering from drug addictions as well as low-income veteran and senior populations. As part of this effort, she also visits individual skilled nursing facilities and hospitals to help find homes for the discharged population who are unable to afford housing or home care.
To prepare for her professional journey in healthcare, Ms. Melendres-Magcalas earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Centro Escolar University in the Philippines in 1993. While developing her leadership roles, she was also the owner of MiracleGreenLeaf, LLC from 2017 until 2021.
Within the coming years, Ms. Melendres-Magcalas intends to continue giving back to her community. Having been a registered nurse since she was 21 years old living in the Philippines, she is a strong advocate for education empowering women, regardless of race, religion and social status.
