Mr. Chou is a games studio founder, entrepreneur, and mental health worker who has dedicated his career to creating and serving others at the intersection of technology and human services. Naturally adaptable and inspired to pursue his goals by a childhood vision impairment, he attended Foothill College, earning a certificate in communication studies in 2011 and an Associate of Science in 2014. He continued his education at the University of California Irvine, which awarded him a bachelor's degree in psychology and social behavior in 2015.
Throughout his career, Mr. Chou has found success coordinating others and creating opportunities in both the technology sector and in mental and behavioral health. Currently, he serves as a mental health community worker for the County of Santa Clara, where he hopes to climb to a management position in the coming years. He began his career in 2015 as a tech support analyst for educational technology provider IXL Learning and a project-based human resources administrator for Quantcast. He soon moved on to a project coordinator position with Light and Salt Association, where he spent the next year overseeing client progress and community partnerships, including a minor-league baseball fundraiser for the nonprofit's special education department. Mr. Chou has excelled with leading companies across industries, including a diversity and inclusion coordinator role with Oracle, a recruiting project coordinator position with Gilead Sciences, and project coordination work for Omnicell, among others.
In addition to his success in management and mental health, Mr. Chou is the founder and chief executive officer of Honor Games, an independent video game studio founded in 2017. Building on a lifelong passion for games and experience built during his time as a game producer for Animus Interactive and a longtime administrator for the 102nd Multigaming Community, Mr. Chou established Honor Games to elevate creative outsiders. The studio's projects include strategy game mod Tiberium Secrets and an upcoming economic simulator.
Mr. Chou has written and published a book summarizing the past decade of his life, highlighting his challenges, struggles, and lessons learned, particularly focusing on his mental health experiences, as well as the documentation of his organizations.
In the coming years, Mr. Chou looks forward to completing a master's degree in organizational and industrial psychology and advocating for the development of industry-standardized job analysis and titles, among other human resources innovations. In his personal time, Mr. Chou is active in his community as a volunteer firefighter and crisis counselor for the County of Santa Clara Crisis & Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
