For the past decade, Dunn-Square has been a faculty member at Bowie State University, in Bowie, Maryland. Acquiring her first position in 2012, she served as an adjunct professor in the communications department. She subsequently served as a visiting lecturer on campus from 2015 to 2017 before becoming a public relations lecturer. As a higher education teacher, Dunn-Square focuses on providing exciting and engaging lectures in her classes, incorporating various aspects of news and social media into her curriculum, and trying to relate with her students as much as possible.

Dunn-Square began her career as a staff writer for the Killeen Daily Herald in Killeen, Texas, in 2002. Shortly thereafter, she became a marketing and promotions consultant for Clear Channel Radio. She also garnered proficiency as a public outreach coordinator at Parsons Brinckerhoff Engineering, marketing writer and coordinator at The Advocate, public relations coordinator at the Anne Arundel County Public Library Systems headquarters, and marketing specialist at Data Solution & Technology Inc. Additionally, Dunn-Square contributed to Examiner.com and Patch.com and has authored her first book, entitled "Practical Guide to Social Media." Among other career objectives, Dunn-Square aims to publish a second book, highlighting minorities in public relations.
A graduate of Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dunn-Square received a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication. Continuing her studies, she achieved a Master of Arts in Organizational Communications from Bowie State University. Dunn-Square remains abreast in her industry as a member of the Public Relations Society of America, the Maryland Communication Association, and the National Association of Black Journalists. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. as well as Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
In light of her accomplishments as an educator, Dunn-Square received the Distinguished Teaching Award and an Outstanding Young Professor of the Year Award from Bowie State University. She was also a finalist for Outstanding Public Relations Educator of the Year for PR News.
