Born in Nigeria, Ms. Ford worked in a long-term acute care facility before a life-changing experience inspired her to become a critical care nurse: her child was born premature at just 23 weeks and spent four months in the neonatal intensive care unit. Doctors initially expressed doubt that her child would survive, but thanks to the hard work of her medical team, both mother and child were discharged in stable condition. This harrowing ordeal inspired Ms. Ford to pursue a career in critical care so she can make a positive impact in others' lives.
Prior to joining Northside Hospital Gwinnett in 2020, Ms. Ford was a critical care nurse at Emory Hospital from 2017 to 2020. She holds a bachelor's degree from Kaplan University and Psychiatric Mental health Nurse Practitioner from Walden University.
Well regarded for her contributions to the field, Ms. Ford was recognized with a 2023 Nurse Excellence Award from the Atlanta Journal Constitution. She won a 2022 Daisy Award, and a 2018 Chief Nurse Executive Award for Excellence from Emory Hospital. She is an exceptionally skilled nurse preceptor, expertly training and mentoring new graduate nurses and new hires for success in the field.
As a commitment to her field, Ms. Ford has been active with several industry-related organizations. These include the Georgia Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the National Society of Leadership and Success. She is also a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society and Sigma Theta Tau International.
Outside of work, Ms. Ford enjoys spending time with her children, Makailah Kikachukwu and Gabrilella Kosisochukwu. She credits her success to God and her family.
