Inspired by several medically inclined family members, Dr. Morhaim was driven to pursue a similar career path, culminating in his work as a senior partner with Great Neck Dental Associates and as a periodontal surgeon in an eponymous private practice. Upon selling his practice in 2015, he started focusing on digitally driven full arch reconstruction with implants to help his patients in need of this service. Through both roles, he has honed specialties in dental implants, bone grafting, and regenerative dental procedures. In this capacity, he forensically analyzes dental records, medical records, and insurance billing, and provides testimony in depositions, arbitrations, and trials in several states, and holds certifications as a dental-legal expert in states such as Florida.
During the early stages of his career, Dr. Morhaim gained valuable expertise in the field as the clinical director of periodontics and oral implantology for Flushing Hospital Medical Center. Before embarking on his professional journey he completed pre-dental studies at Columbia University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, Spanish, and Pre-dentistry Studies from Binghamton University. Subsequently, Dr. Morhaim received a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Stony Brook University, a certificate in advanced dental medicine and emergency care from The Long Island College Hospital, and a certificate of advanced graduate studies in periodontics, implant surgery, and bone regenerative procedures from Boston University. As his professional periodontal surgical career unfolded, he was appointed as a member of the Student Alumni Committee at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, where he created and became the chairman of the mentorship committee; this was created to help recent graduates advance themselves in their chosen specialties and career paths.
Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Dr. Morhaim maintains alignment with such organizations as the International Dental Implant Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the Northeast Society of Periodontics, the New York State Dental Society, The American Dental Association, The Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry, the Nassau County Dental society, and The New York State Dental Society, to name a few. Alongside his work, Dr. Morhaim has contributed to his community while in school through Harper School Ambulance, Emergency and Advanced Life Support Services, The Cleary School for The Deaf, as well as acting as The Chairman of The Student Outreach Committee while at Stony Brook Dental School.
Along with other industry scholars, while in dental school, Dr. Morhaim co-authored the article "Success and Failure Rate of Endodontic Therapy Performed by Dental Students." For his outstanding body of work, he has been honored with several different awards, including the Academy of Dentistry for the Disabled Award, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology Award, and the American Association of Endodontics Award. He was also a two-time winner of The Long Island Newsday Professional Achievement Award, chosen for multiple consecutive years as America's Top Dentists," by The Consumers Research Council Of America, and a frequently invited guest speaker on the Live Radio Talk Show called "Dentistry Today," simulcasted on WMCA and WEVD A.M. stations in the New York Tri-state area. In the coming years, Dr. Morhaim would like to establish a clinical and didactic educational center in which he can focus on full arch dental implant reconstruction.
