As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Drawing on over two decades of expertise in the field of mechanical engineering, Mr. Breach specializes in technical design reviews. Since 2014, he has found much success as a mechanical engineer at the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission. In this capacity, Mr. Breach is responsible for the application of mechanical engineering by verifying or reviewing designs and analysis related to the nuclear industry.
Mr. Breach initially began his vocation working as a principal engineer at STERIS from 1998 to 2007. Following this post, he was hired as a principal engineer at GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy from 2007 until 2014. In his career-related endeavors, Mr. Breach has contributed to numerous professional journals and authored various articles, including "Qualification of Nuclear Equipment Against Hydrogen Detonation Using Explicit and Implicit Finite Element Methods," "Modeling Non-ideal Phase Equilibrium, Mass and Energy Transfer in a Binary System via Augmentation of Computational Fluid Dynamical Methods" and more.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Breach pursued an education at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. He continued his academic efforts at the Gannon University, earning a Master of Science in mechanical engineering with distinction. As a commitment to his field, Mr. Breach was licensed as a professional engineer via the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and has been active as a member with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Breach is most proud to have worked on and written six articles about various methods of pressure vessel qualification for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers publication. Reflecting on his career, he attributes much of his success to his dedication and drive for achieving breakthroughs in his specialty, especially during his involvement with the original software used on the NASA Lunar Excursion Module, where he modified the thermodynamic software to allow temperature dependent thermos-physical properties, while at Grumman Aerospace. Looking toward the future, Mr. Breach aspires to attain approval for high-temperature reactors and to further review applications in the advanced reactor sector, while writing his scholarly paper on a phenomenon called elastic follow-up, which occurs in high-temperature reactors.
