A positive outlook as well as outstanding academic accomplishments have proven foundational to Mr. Harvey's success thus far and include a Bachelor of Science in business computer information systems from the University of North Texas, which he earned in 2011. He also credits specific mentors including Guy Rankin, the former chief executive officer of the Harris County Housing Authority, and Melissa Quijano, also of the Harris County Housing Authority, for their support, and Mr. Harvey took inspiration from his aunts and uncles who have also excelled in the information technology industry.
As a member of the Oklahoma Conference of Black Mayors, Mr. Harvey regularly collaborates with officials from other towns, including more isolated rural regions. He is gratified to be able to offer pro bono consulting on platforms related to public works, compliance issues and information technology installations. Mr. Harvey is also enthusiastic about the progress he is making in building and promoting a farm and ranch operation in Tatums. Looking toward the future, he aspires to host rodeos, live music presentations and agricultural events to engage the local and regional public, and Mr. Harvey aims to advance his cattle count to 15, care for five horses and employ three full-time associates.
