Dr. Babikir is a first-generation American who gained her medical knowledge and dual degree overseas at Ahfad University for Women's School of Medicine. After which she embarked on her professional journey of practicing medicine and expanding her medical and professional portfolio through completing her medical training and post-doctoral research fellowship experience at the UT Southwestern Medical Center, and an executive MBA in Organizational Leadership from the University of Texas at Dallas.

She was also a 7-time PACT Recognition Award recipient and A Leader's Club Spirit Award recipient during her career course at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Babikir's career did not follow the traditional trajectory for a medical doctor and a practicing physician overseas or in the United States. She takes immense provide in her effort of creating her professional niche in which she can meet her potential, excel at which she does while forging her legacy in life as a member of her society. Although, her path has been filled with challenges along the way, it was equally so with highlights, in which her success allows her to take the most pride in her achievements as a healthcare professional, a researcher and a contributing member of a society which she appreciates and respects.
