Ms. Coffey is an auditor celebrating nearly 20 years of excellence in her field. A graduate of Western Kentucky University, she earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting in 2003. Throughout her career, Ms. Coffey has continued to pursue additional professional development opportunities and industry credentials, and she holds a Certified Internal Controls Auditor accreditation from the Institute of Internal Controls.
Ms. Coffey began her professional career in 2004 as a legislative auditor for the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury. After two years in her role, she joined the Commonwealth of Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services as an auditor, where she continued to build her reputation for attention to detail and outstanding professional integrity until her departure in 2008. Ms. Coffey entered the private sector as a senior internal auditor for Toyota Tsusho America the same year, and returned to government compliance in 2011 as the internal audit supervisor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Since 2018, she has served as division director for the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority, where she oversees internal audit procedures and ensures the department's compliance with all applicable statutes, regulations, and policies. In 2023, Ms. Coffey was named as Chief Auditor of the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority.
Among Ms. Coffey's proudest accomplishments was an early audit for the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority that identified more than $400,000 of funds misappropriated by a contracted vendor. She looks forward to continuing to uphold standards of accountability and transparency throughout the department, and credits her success to the teams that she has been a part of. As an established professional in her specialty, Ms. Coffey is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the Central Kentucky Association of Government Accountants, where she serves as the current Chapter President. In her personal time, Ms. Coffey gives back to her community as a volunteer with the local Boy Scout group.
