Since 2003, she has built a prolific career as a licensed professional counselor for her private practice, first in Seattle, Washington in 2003, and later in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania beginning in 2013. In this capacity, she collaborates with other mental health professionals, treatment coverage entities such as medical and commercial insurances, community mental & medical health providers, and she integrates pertinent coordination of care with shared client providers. Ms. Morgano initially began her career in community mental health working as a clinical case manager at the Highline West Seattle Mental Health Center (now NAVOS) from 2000 until 2006. Following this post, she excelled as a mental health liaison at the Seattle Children's Home and as a clinical account executive at First Choice Health from 2006 to 2010. Between 2010 and 2014, she garnered expertise as a clinical assessment coordinator at the University of Washington Northwest Hospital Geropsychiatric Center and a clinical triage coordinator at Pittsburgh Mercy Behavioral Health. Subsequently, Ms. Morgano contributed to UPMC, where she served as a quality management clinician and a mobile care manager from 2014 until 2018. Ms. Morgano was a behavioral health therapist working with those experiencing early psychosis at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Western Psychiatric Clinic from 2018 to 2020.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Morgano pursued an education at Allegheny College, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 1995. She continued her academic efforts at Duquesne University, earning a Master of Science in education and counseling in 2000. As a commitment to her field, she has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the American Psychological Association. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. Morgano contributes to FosterCat Inc., serving as a volunteer, foster, and board member.
Among her professional accomplishments, Ms. Morgano is most proud of building a successful private practice while maintaining a full-time job for over two decades. Additionally, she is gratified to be connected with numerous individuals in a clinical setting, and witnessing the positive impact that her work has on people and their lives and ability to find peace, recovery, and mental health healing. Reflecting on her career, she attributes much of her success to her perseverance, spirituality, dedication to her clients, continued education learning, self-reflection, and the support from colleagues and other practitioners. Looking toward the future, Ms. Morgano aspires to attain her certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), to further assist those coping with complex trauma experiences and perceptions. She would also like to supervise graduates entering the mental health and clinical field.
