With more than three decades of excellence as a well-seasoned architect, award-winning real estate agent and business owner, Mr. Hoppe has earned distinction as the founding broker and chief executive officer of Costera Luxury Properties. Additionally, he has been a licensed California architect and real estate agent since 2003. He also is the founder of the Paul Merage School of Business "MBA for Executives" Alumni Wolfpack Organization at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) and has been a valued lifetime member of his national fraternity, Delta Sigma Phi, since 1985.
Before taking corporate ownership of his real estate brokerage in 2020, Mr. Hoppe began his professional architectural career during his final year in college, beginning as an architectural draftsman with O'Leary Terasawa Partners, AIA Architects in 1989. He subsequently served as a parking consultant, project manager and associate member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for International Parking Design in 1999. He went on to work in a similar capacity as a senior parking consultant for Choate Parking Consultants in 2002 and was unexpectedly laid-off in 2003. It was at that time he vowed to never be in that kind of a position again, and after six rigorous months of hard work and dedication, Mr. Hoppe took control of his professional career by attaining California state licenses in Architecture and Real Estate.
Shortly after licensure, Mr. Hoppe began his professional real estate career with Coldwell Banker, while concurrently starting-up his own architectural practice and becoming an architect member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in 2003. He attained his real estate broker's license in 2010, and following seven successful years, he left Coldwell Banker and opened his own independent real estate brokerage, establishing Hoppe Realty. In 2015, he enrolled as a post-graduate student at UCI, while simultaneously selling real estate, and taking on an architectural contract position as a construction project manager with the facilities management department at UCI's division of finance & administration, which he held before taking the role as a senior project services manager with the transportation & distribution services department at UCI in 2016.
In 2020, Mr. Hoppe incorporated his real estate brokerage and brand under the name PreviewOC Real Estate, where he began managing and fostering a staff of licensed California real estate agents, concentrating on their professional development and success with the brokerage. In 2021, he launched Costera Luxury Properties, which currently serves the coastal Southern California luxury real estate market.
Beginning in 2010, Five Star Professional, an independent market-specific research firm, began contacting thousands of homebuyers, sellers, and industry leaders to identify real estate agents who stand out in their industry. Each year, the results of these evaluations are then incorporated into a scoring algorithm client satisfaction rating system which identifies and ultimately awards top real estate professionals who are found to have such exceptional results. Among his many professional accolades, Mr. Hoppe has been honored the prestigious Five Star Real Estate Agent annual award, 13-times (2010-15, 2017-23). Most notably, only 25 out of 59,000 Orange County, California real estate agents have been Five Star Professional award winners for 13 or more years. He has also been honored for his stellar career by Madison Who's Who of Professionals as a top business professional having demonstrated exemplary achievement and distinguished contributions to the architectural community in 2007. Added to the list of notable achievements, among various certifications and credentials, he was the honored recipient of the distinguished International Diamond Society award, along with the Diamond award in 2005; the Winner's Circle award, and the Outstanding & Top First Year Salesperson award in 2004; plus, numerous monthly and quarterly top production awards in gross commission income, closed sales transactions and listings taken for his service with Coldwell Banker (2003-10).
Prior to embarking on his illustrious professional journey, Mr. Hoppe earned a Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) professional 5-year degree from Woodbury University in 1990. Following many years of accomplishments, he attained a Master of Business Administration (Executive MBA) post-graduate degree from the Paul Merage School of Business at UCI in 2017.
Well-qualified in his field, Mr. Hoppe is registered as an architect (Lic# C29405) with the California Architects Board and is the "Architect of Record" for the planning, design, and structural integrity for over 200 building projects throughout the Southern California region. He also holds certifications as a licensed real estate broker (Lic# 01390168) and as a corporate broker-officer (Lic# 02115250) with the California Department of Real Estate, as well as a broker member / designated REALTOR® with the California and National Association of REALTORS®; including the Orange County, Pacific Southwest, Pacific West, Rancho Southeast, and Tri-Counties Association of REALTORS®, among other credentials.
