Throughout his career, he has spoken at many industry events, lectured to high school and college students and mentored many aspiring real estate professionals, including 3 of his sons.
SCOTTSDALE, AZ, October 17, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Norman Brody has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all considered during the selection process.
Mr. Brody holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of Minnesota and subsequently earned a JD from the Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 1973. His interest in real estate led him to obtain a real estate broker license, which allowed him to practice law and engage in real estate simultaneously. It was then that he incorporated Brody Associates, Inc., now in its fiftieth year. He utilized these tools as an attorney, broker and developer for Best Buy Company in its early years, before being recruited by Target Stores to open the metro New York market. While at Target, he obtained the first of many stores for them in College Point, Queens. Subsequent opportunities led him to retailers Garden Ridge (now At Home), Home Depot and as vice president of development for Kimco Developers, a division of Kimco Realty. In these positions, he had the opportunity to engage in real estate throughout the U.S.
After leaving Kimco in 2007, he re-activated Brody Associates, Inc. as a developer and consultant, working nationally, before being recruited, in 2009, by MeadWestvaco, Inc. as Director of Commercial Development for its 5,000 acre master planned community, Nexton, in Summerville SC. At MeadWestvaco, he served for more than 8 years as part of the development team planning and implementing the vision of Nexton, that has been recognized by the National Association of Homebuilders, as the best master planned community in the U.S. After leaving MeadWestvaco in 2017, he moved to Scottsdale, AZ, but remained active in the South Carolina market as the consulting project manager for the first Mercedes Benz Van Center, in the U.S., located in Nexton.
Currently, Mr. Brody is a Managing Member of the international development team developing Verde at Cooley Station, a 25 acre mixed-use project in Gilbert, AZ with residential, medical, retail, office and restaurant components, while Brody Associates, Inc. continues exploring development and consulting opportunities through the Southwestern U.S.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Brody takes the most pride in remaining active in real estate and the re-development of Montgomery Plaza, Ft. Worth, TX, the first Target store in Queens, NY, the Nexton master planned community and the Mercedes Benz Van Center there. Throughout his career, he has spoken at many industry events, lectured to high school and college students and mentored many aspiring real estate professionals, including 3 of his sons.
Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, Mr. Brody credits his overall success to being a problem solver, a visionary planner, working well with others and not taking no for an answer. He prides himself on being "the source for the solution."
