Mrs. Bowie's industry presence is in part defined by excellent academic credentials and training. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, with clinical competence, from the Universidade Federal da Bahía in 1997 before pursuing an internship in mental health system care at the mental health department of Trieste in Italy in 1998. Her international exposure was supplemented by a transition to the United States where she pursued a Master of Arts in Latin American studies with an emphasis in political science and public health at San Diego State University, from which Mrs. Bowie graduated in 2008 and where she served as an adjunct faculty lecturer between 2008 and 2011.
A commitment to civic service further shapes Mrs. Bowie's profile. From 2001 to 2003, she served as an advisor for grants and developments with the Grupo Ambientalista de Palmeiras in Brazil, and from 2011 to 2014, she was humbled to be a volunteer coordinator with Two Brothers Foundation, an organization with which she also held membership on the board of directors between 2006 and 2016. Additionally, Mrs. Bowie has persisted since 2021 in her role as a mentor with the San Diego State University Aztec Mentor Program.
Mrs. Bowie credits the inspiration and energy gained from working with a broad network of supporters, including academic advisors and workplace supervisors. Mrs. Bowie also recognizes the roles played by her husband, sister and extended family in both motivating her to move abroad to pursue further academic achievements and helping in the advancement of her small business toward reaching a broader segment of clients.
